Before I was a professional photographer I was a body man back in the 1970s and early 80s so every time we need a newer car I buy a total and fix it. This is my latest project.

I like shot & the wall, except for the black hole. Can you get farther away from it to cut down on the reflections in the hood?
Nice new tread on the LF tire! ;)

Before and after of my 55 Chevy. I did everything myself. Has a L98 Vette 5.7L with TPI, 700R4 transmission and 3.08 posi rear end. Strictly a cruiser. I always built drivers that could compete in shows.

Forgive the point and shoot pics. The first was a scan of a Polaroid.

The fender and door were beyond repair. I bought both of them used for $400.00.

Mike,

Wow an excellent job.

Back in the 1970s -1980s I used to do a lot of restorations like yours. Show and go I called them.

Ben :)

Thanks guys. My friends make fun of me saying I felt sorry for the 55  I have always thought 75% of the fun was building the cars.

Yes. At first I couldn't figure out why. I checked it our carefully and figured it would need about three hours on the frame rack, a front bumper cover, headlamp assembly, LF fender, a new tire, a LF door and a few other small insignificant parts. It was even drivable. We went home and ran a Carfax check and the drivers airbag had been deployed and the left lower control arm was broken, which is probably why the insurance company decided to total it. When we saw the car these had already been fixed, so we didn't need to do anything other than have the dealer clear out the codes in the computer and align the front end. We drove it over 100 miles home just as you see it in the first photo without any problems (and without any plates!)
