I'm using a PC, so all I know is the PC commands for CS3....

I've got an image that I neeeeeeed to fix. Its of my little one, and 3 of my husband's fingers are at the right hand side of the image. Otherwise, its nearly perfect. I've tried cloning and healing brushing them out, and I'm not getting the results that I want, even though I've already spent several hours working on this photo.

Here it is, mostly straight from the camera, but cropped how I want it cropped. (I've got others from the same shoot that show his face, but this one I wanted to show his toy). I know its kind of big, but I wanted to be able to show the part that I want to remove. If someone could help me, I'd be most grateful. I really need to learn this, since I shoot on the fly so often.

I think where I'd start is by duplicating his other elbow and flipping it to start with shading and shape. But I gotta be honest with you, I don't think this image is worth all of the work. It's a fine snapshot. His face is oof, and I almost wonder if I see some motion blur, plus there is some unpleasant flash shadow going on. Try with a smaller aperture, and focusing on his face. Good luck!

The clone tool will do it. It's a good idea to clone on a separate layer so you can erase. Soften the edge of the clone brush. With practice, this should take 10-15 minutes max.

yup :)
Use only the cloning tool. Watch any lines. Think about cloning in the lines that you want.
