My plan for today was to run with my kids in the Stirling (Scotland) 2k race, and use that as a warmup before I did the 10k. However, a somewhat suspicious lump in my leg (doctor's appointment tomorrow) combined with a somewhat overprotective wife and mother made me decide to miss the 10k.
So I took my camera along and snapped off some pictures. Here are the first eight worth keeping, more will follow when I process them.
I thought I had found a nice corner near the end that would afford a decent backdrop, but it's clear I didn't have a great angle, and that the spectators were too close to the runners. Oh well, we live and learn.

#4 Same fellow, I just liked the motion in this one

#5 It was accidental that the focus was on the fellow in second place, but I quite like the effect. Is he struggling to catch up? Or seeing that he's not going to? I'm not sure.

I feel much happier about this than my previous attempt (unfortunately the pictures have gone, but it was here). I'll post my flickr gallery address when I get more uploaded
Comments, suggestions for improvement welcomed!
