Hi, I am new to digital SLR photography, one of the first pictures I took when I got my new XSI was the moon on Aug 16th, it was a beautiful orange colour.

Welcome to the forums!

It's a bit far away, although unless you have a decent zoom length, it will be hard to get it any closer. Next time try without the flash also, so the foreground isn't lit up. Nice try though for one of your first pictures. Keep at it.
