I have that bag - it the biggest bag I own. I wouldn't take it as a carry-on aboard a plane. If I needed to lug the amount of equipment that bag can carry, I'd check a Pelican case, then stuff this bag full of other items inside a bigger checked bag. If you have that bag, the ultimate carry-on travel solution (IMO) is the ThinkTank Airport Acceleration. It holds almost as much gear, isn't nearly as big, and is about as comfortable to hike around with....considering that much weight on your back is never comfortable.

I use the Photo Trekker as something I can stuff a lot into and easily carry to and from the car or on very short walks to the location. I typically take a smaller bag and/or vest to hike with.

Keep in mind, that Photo Trekker can carry a 500mm f4L with hood reversed and a 300mm f2.8L with the hood on straight plus two 1D bodies and one or two other smaller lenses - it is massive!

even though i dnt have 1D bodies anymore im planning to buy 5DI so that makes 3 bodies for me. its a huge and heavy bag, im planning ahead for we have a 16 month old to carry also.=D were staying for a month. so pelican case and AWII photo trekkr is too much to carry isn't it. jeez this is harder that i expect.
