Genesis 200...slave?

I have been toward the Genesis 200 as my first studio light. I have a Rebel XT and I don't know if the Genesis 200 can be fired by the flash on my camera.


Body: 5DMKIII
Lenses: 17-40L, 24-70L, EF 50 1.4, EF 85 1.8, EF 70-200 F4 L, Lens Baby
Flash: 2x Canon 430EX

Yes it can. You just need to make sure the light is set so it doesnt fire on your pre flash.

No problem. I have the two 200 light kit and they are very nice lights for the price, enjoy.

The "slave" button on the light has 3 settings, dmbpettit:
- Off
- Fire on first flash
- Fire on second flash

If you're using pre-flash on your cammie, set the light to fire on the second flash. At least that's the 3 settings I recall without looking at them.
