Hey guys,

I'm going to purchase my first flash and at first I was interested in the Sunpak 383, but since it has now been discontinued the only place to purchase one is Ebay and judging by the prices the people selling them are certainly taking advantage of the demand of them. One is going for $90 used!!!

I am thinking about the Vivitar 285HV, but I just would prefer something that swivels. Is there anything comparable in price that provides the same performance and swivel capability as the Sunpak? I'm going to be purchasing it within the next day or 2.

Thanks for the help!

Bought 2 Sunpaks a few weeks ago from B&H...you might want to check again.

I just got off the phone with them and they said that they no longer have any.

I just went ahead and purchased a Vivitar!! I didn't know how many accessories there were until I started looking. I thought I'd be set with a flash..looks like I'll have to start looking for a stand and umbrella :)
