I think that just determines the size of the filters, but I could be wrong.

And Laura, I'm pretty sure they're "neutral grey" or something like that, so they're not true neutral filters.

Yeah P vs Z are only size to be honest rather than colours and filters themselves.

Im going to pick up a Lee system after im back from holiday and compare some long exposed. I think you have found something interesting to experiment.

I've been using HiTech filters too, I think they're quite good - especially for the price! The colour cast from Cokin filters is just unacceptable, they're supposed to be neutral filters after all...

That is very true. Wonder if Cokin have anything on their site or tech support about long exposures.

Hi all :)

I would be most grateful if you could let me know which are your top 5 images from this batch:

(CLICK for a bigger version)

I'm entering these into the Birdworld 2008 competition and need to whittle this lot down to 5 .....

I will be delivering them late tomorrow morning (I have them all printed already) so would be grateful to hear your opinions ASAP!

Many thanks for your thoughts!

David :)

1, 2, 4 ,7, and 9 would be my choice.

I would say 9,1,3,6,2 - 9 being highest because it has the cleanest background and most prominent subject.

Reminder - Open House is this weekend which should be great for street and architecture shots around London. Hopefully they will allow better access to the bricklane tubes as they did last year.

David: 1,3,6 & 9 for me. They're all good images, I just prefer the ones where you can't tell they're in captivity :)

And yea, I think I'll be selling off my set of cokin filters for something new. I haven't decided what system to go with yet, but I imagine it'll be the Lee's.

This annual, London-wide event offers the opportunity to view, free of charge, a huge range of buildings of architectural interest which are not normally open to the public. As well as the government buildings, private homes, historic houses, schools, town halls and other buildings open for tours, there are also site visits to ongoing construction projects. Children's activities include architectural tours of the Barbican, making an imaginary container city similar to the development at Trinity Buoy Wharf, and building London with modelling materials on a giant floor plan in City Hall. Certain events require pre-booking; a full programme is available from the website: www.openhouse.org.uk (external link) (telephone bookings are not taken).

QUOTED IMAGE

I will have to try and go on Sunday. Sat has been fully booked. Last weekend before I head off, I might have to give it a miss completely. :(

I just got a call from T4 Cameras and the Nikon D90 is now in stock if anyone wants to have a play. I guess most others shops should have stock today also. I for one am curious...

Having said that when I can get a 5d II in uk for 1600 ish I will get one. Sooner if I pick up a few contracts :)

I'm happy with the specs, I would have loved a higher flash sync speed but as long as the picture quality gap remains in the 5D's favor, I am there. Then I saving up for the Mark IV.

That was good. Homer Simpson like.

I disappear for 4 days and when I come back not only have you guys left me almost 30 pages of posts to read through, but I'm also being quoted and compared to Homer Simpson! Thanks.

Mitesh, I agree that you should forget about the s**tty company you work for and enjoy your upcoming holiday. But when you get back I think you should make life as difficult as possible for them. ;)
I don't suppose they happen to be an American company?

No sense and unfortunately not enough money.
