That's where he lives :)

Sounds perfect. You arrange the accommodation with him and I'll check the flights.;)

No sense and unfortunately not enough money.

Next couple of years especially I'll be doing plenty of short trips around Europe, seeing different bits and pieces. Now I hopefully won't be returning back to NZ for a while and spending so much time unemployed.

Need some like minded travel photographers willing to rough up and stay cheap ;)

I'm definitely up for some cheap travel as and when I can.

Yeah cool, good to have a couple names. Not really for a year or so from now anyway, but once I start European travelling, I'll probably do it quite frequently.

Your blog will certainly make for very interesting reading on your travels I bet. Are you going to keep it going?

Yeah it's the easiest way for me to keep decent quality photos viewable of where I've gone. And like an ever expanding portfolio :)

That reminds me, must renew my domain name. Got my final 28 day reminder last week...

Costs me NZ$34 a year (£13) and the hosting done in USA, cost US$120 for 2 years

I think I would be interested, I saw one of the straps on Scott Kelby's blog and the design looked really neat.

Great - well if you order one, you'll be one of the first people in the UK with one!

Ditto above ;)

Sorry everyone, bit of a long day.

Well basically im in a disciplinary for breach of policy and one of the outcomes can be a dismissal. The fact that the managers that are in power now are not really on my side.

Good thing is I have drafted a letter to ask them to withdraw all photographs of mine that are placed around the building as I am taking my property with me when I leave. That means all recent magazines have to be given to me also. :D

Sorry to hear that. Let's hope that it gets you into full time photography!

adam LC wrote in post #6712870 (external link)
You need to tell HMRC that you have gone self employed; you can earn £6,035 before you need to pay tax on profits (edit: as you've already done your tax free quota for this financial year; you'd need to keep back the 20% tax anyway to declare it); in regards VAT, you need to be turning over in excess of £67,000 to trigger registration.....

but dont quote me ;)

Whilst £67,000 may be the automatic trigger point, you CAN register for VAT at any turnover level, so if you're mainly selling to VAT registered organisations / people you can register for VAT and claim back VAT on expenditure where you've been charged VAT.

Haha, busted by Facebook!!

Reminds me of a friend who was caught out by a protest on a road, peope complaining of speeding vehicles etc .. They blocked up the road, school bus got caught up, front page on local paper was a pic, with my mate smack bang in the middle smoking!

Always used to say it was friends smoking around him .. Haha!
