Anyone made photobooks??? What service did you use and if it was one that required the installation of software was it "well behaved"? I have emailed myphotobook and photobook with some pre user questions but sadly no answers yet after 24hours :(

I used bob books, mid priced, had to download software template etc.

I used photobox, as they were offering some good deals, and was petty impressed with it, BUT, it is vitally important that you size up the image yourself knowing what size the template is, and don't let them resize your image to fit in a template.

Mitesh, next time you get greif from the boss maybe you should try this:

http://i250.photobucket.com …60/ddukshure/b036aba5.gif (external link)

Hahaha!

That could be quite useful for my customers who owe thousands of pounds!

I just had a missed call from a customer at 11:09pm, figured it was a customer so I rejected it.
Then had a text message at 11;30 and again at midnight asking again who left a message on his voicemail during the day, has no credit to check message.

Obviously I can't text back, can only communicate via phone conversation and before hours of 8:30pm.

I used myphotobook and it was pretty good. The software was ok to use and worked quite easily.

When I did some research, they seemed to be the best. Im using them for a chrismas present for someone as we speak

So when's the next meet up and where?

michaelgreen78 wrote in post #6717080 (external link)
No plans for a meet yet but I think Elliott "volunteered" to be the meet organiser this time round. It'll be posted here and over on facebook when a firm decision is made.

Volunteered after some pretty brutal arm twisting by Chris you mean! ;):p:lol:
The main issue is going to be my suggestion that we make it a midweek meet so Chris can come along (he'll get upset if we have yet another meet that he can't attend ;)).
Anyway, as I suggested a couple of days ago, Cambridge looks to have a fair amount of photographic potential.
I'll post on facebook later from home (its blocked here at work) and try to get some feedback from others and we'll take it from there.

Nice shots Mitesh. I agree with Warren that the 'future' (#16 I think) is one that really stands out.

Since I've been in UK it's been between 2.4 and 2.85 at one point not so long ago (27th October I think)

Mostly it stayed strong around the 2.55-2.60 mark.

On Friday, the rate was 2.63 at Westpac NZ
Today their rate for buying T/T is 2.69

And when I went into HSBC today, they quoted 2.7141
So the money I was sending was totalling $31,212.15 once converted

I signed for that amount to be sent off

5 hours later at 4pm, HSBC called me up, advising unfortunately as it's over NZ$20,000 they need to get a deal rate with head office, who advised a poor rate of 2.6675 ($30,676) So they basically telling me they did it wrong, and I'm now sending almost $600 less (£200)

I ended up going in there pissed off, telling them just to send it as GBP as the rate with Westpac now still showing as 0.3743 (2.67 once inverted)

Whahoo.

Finally something went in my favour!

HSBC released the funds yesterday at 3pm, (4am NZ time), and during the working day today, my bank in NZ processed it already to my account. (pretty quick!)
The final rate I received was $2.727 (0.3667 GBP to 1NZD)

So I've received a further $155 than the "good" rate a couple of days ago
And $700 more than if I had just let HSBC send that crappy rate. So glad I told them to send as pounds.

So basically that means more camera gear

Lucky git!

Looks like I may have convinced the missus to let me dip into our savings and get myself a 5D MKII as long as I pay extra into the account (an extra £200 a month ) to make up for it. That way I can get my new toy asap and spread the payment over a number of months without having to apply for credit. :D
Even better is the fact that dabs.com have a pre-order price of £1959 - over £300 cheaper than most other places.

Nice one! It's always pleasing when you get permission to buy!

Have you tried Kerso for his price?

I asked Kerso a few weeks back but he said he was still awaiting details before he could tell me a definite price. Might try him again now I've got permission. :D

Just messing with you Mitesh. Talking of gear, how are you finding your Sigma 17-35? Any good?
