Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

The BMW museum in Munich was really cool, I've not done much in the way of car photography before but found myself going through a few cards. I think you guys would easily spend a whole day there.

Two early shots from the day -

The first is a kinetic ball sculpture which I was simply breathtaking as it formed different shapes.

QUOTED IMAGE

That ball thing looks amazing, I would love to visit that museum. I'll just add it to my ever-growing list :(

Great shots mate

My connection is unbearably slow, and couldn't exactly see photos on the previous page (50 per thread).
Finally uploaded some photos - that itself took over 4 hours with plenty of time outs etc. I've clocked this connection at a whopping 36kbps upload, compare that to UK where I have 1024+ :o

So I've finally put some up on my blog,

Nice shots on the blog, Warren, you're making me jealous every day :D

will the car be a striped out track/road car ?

Cheers! :D

Its pretty much a weekend toy, will appear, kill a few peoples cars up the pod then be hidden away again, its taken him around 18 months to 2 years so far, its all pretty much ready for the live mapping now! :D

Whoring my new toy out already eh?? :)

Sorry about that .. Haha!

Welcome back Andy. Great shots...how does that ball sculpture thing work??

I'm sure we'd all feel bad for you if we didn't know you were all nice and warm while it's below 0 here today. Slow internet seems like a fair trade to me ;)

Loved the little Wallaby shot on your blog.

Agreed which is why im going to speak to Deanphoto who has some freeking quality work every single time.

Him and JDMoto are by far my fav auto toggies by far. I still have such a long way till im as good as them. My main issue is, I have not played about with lighting enough to understand it yet. Seems so simple but as I found out, grabbing a flash and firing is not the best thing by any means.

Yes I have to say I had that trouble yesterday with my mates car! Haha .. The best shot I got was of the steering wheel when I bounced the flash off the seat!

It seems like you need light to fill the wheels, the body and any other areas you want to highlight .. Practice makes perfect I guess?!

I found the strobe mode on the 580EX II works wonders for that. Dial in your power, tripod your camera and go for a long shutter speed. Paint around the wheels. Only need to watch for the flash head reflections.
