QUOTED IMAGE

How are the filters holding up?

Thinking about it - its not a bad time to buy the lens because I think if Canon really are increasing the cost of lenses and bodies, this will also effect the second hand market. If the copy is sharp wide open you are on to a winner as I was never happy with my one at f4 and only really shot at 5.6+

Saying that, I had a look at the guys galleries and if they were with the 300mm, its a real winner. Either way, im sure I can get some good use out of it.

All I need to do now is remember to maintain my shutter speeds. Plus learn about panning properly now. Im sure it should be a good learning experience.

I've certainly heard of a lot of people starting them, have yet to see someone finish one though. More blogs than books though.

Good luck to you if you start.

I will be in London for a very short visit in mid-February (too bloody short, frankly, but airfares are cheap, dollar is up, and it's hard to get a ton of time off work right now). It would be fun to meet up with some local photographers (time permitting) for a "London photos field trip".

Looks like we might be able to meet up then, Mitesh. Perhaps a nice weekday meet is on the cards for Feb?

Hi

Sounds good! I'm trying to sort out the timing - I'm visiting with a friend and I'm trying to figure out which times won't be filled with museums, plays, and whatnot. I'd love to get some cool night shots (Anke, yours are wonderful - the Thames ones, I saw them on teh other thread) and I was also blown away by that London Eye at night one, wow!

This trip is really entirely too short. SIGH.

London is a very big and photogenic place, just go without sleep for your entire holiday if you can :D
