Is the meet open to anyone?? I live in Bromley and would like to come out to play as well as I have the fourth off.

Sure, the more the merrier. Everyone is welcome. :)

Weekdays mean taking days off and those are way too precious this early in the year, so weekends only for me so anything like the Battersea PS meet if weekday would have to be well thought out for me:(

Oh, Adam one thing I would like to try my hand at is taking some shots of fly fisher/ing i.e. not doing the fishing but catching some nice light on water and fisher. I have some ideas in my head probably influenced by some I have seen but heh until I get to try I by seeing the settings and the opps I will never know??? On that note golfers in action could be quite interesting ~ motion and stillness in the same image for both "types" are what interest me. So being presumptious, any weekend when you are in the Tandridge valley area would mean only a short drive for me!

Edit - re Oxted - I have a client in Old Oxted :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Hmm can't do 4th feb, no weekdays for me! and to be honest weekends are pretty full as well with the football and racing/testing starting again in Feb/March

I've just ordered a 5d MKII body from ebuyer (£1800) so need to rake those pennies in again!

I do have a semi naked model/bike shoot to squeeze in at the end of the month now, should be fun.

Nice price.

Bah! Im aiming not to take on any outdoorsy shoots till it gets a bit warmer. I just cant be as creative for some reason. :(

Got a few media consultations and interviews at Universities though so about my company. Guess that will do.

I've often thought about a similar type of shot and I must admit... VERY challenging! A fly fisher at Bewl Water on a misty morning is something I'd tried a few times, there's so many variables for the perfect conditions/action that it's nearly impossible

I can imagine that similar conditions would make Coltsford Mill a good shot too. I usually fish during the week to avoid as much over crowding as possible, but I'm sure we could sort something out in the coming months :D

It would be good to keep a watching brief with you as to when would be a suitable date/time, obviously as the days lengthen what would the opps be like in the evenings at Coltsford Mill?

As for challenging I rarely manage to get the shot in my head exactly right in the image ~ Red Arrows crossover experience has been good but not yet quite on the 'nail'. The other one I would like to try as I think I can talk to a clay pigeon shooter is the moment of blast ~ again mental images to be made real?

Edit - on a side note, I see from your Bio you mention archery. I did that at school (a very long time ago) and it was a great one to do wonderfull trying to get the best out 100lb laminated bows. Our school competed in an interschools LCC (or was just GLC?) event we came team 3rd and one our guys came individual first.

Looking forward into the year.

I am seriously thinking of a trip up to Lakenheath - this has two of my interests. The airbase as based on various POTNers images in the Transportation fora photography seems very much alllowed and the somewhere nearby Lakenheath Fen RSPB reserve for the bird opps. No idea whether a group meet for such distance would be of interest but at this stage I think a long weekend i.e. two days in the area to catch both opps. and nice pub food & a beer or two.

:)

Hello guys and girls, not been on here for a while (not that I was on much anyway), hardly done any photography recently due to poor light and bitter temperatures, I loathe this time of year.

This is about the only relatively recent shot that I like, taken at early sunset on Whitstable beach just before xmas:

That's about it really, anyone else been more prolific over the festive period?

Happy new yule/year/recession etc to you all.

I guess I'll have to just make do with my current gear for a while longer then. Unless I suddenly get a huge payrise from work.

Haha. I bet the photographer needed an underwear change after that.
Notice that the suspect had the surname Sylvester. I've always thought there was something dodgy about people with that name. ;)

Sounds good but not very fair on others who have to come a long way, do we think?

I just need to make sure there are decent train links from NW london, unless i can steel the KA from the mrs that day:cool:
