On the run from the law and still has the cigar/cigarette gritted in his teeth. I'm sure it's just for the look.

I'd still be sat there trying to get the right lens on the camera then trying to shoot it with the lens cap on

I could do that, have to pick Matt up from Bracknell too if he cant get a lift, not sure who else it out there.

Meetup time will have to be something like 12pm or something as looking at it, hour from yours to Bracknell and then 1:30 to North Kent. So about 3 hours of driving, oh and loud music if you can handle it.

My friends' hard drive has just died and he has lost over 20 000 pics with no backup.

he may be able to get them back, but it will cost him at least £400

Just a reminder for folk to back it up. I am doing so rigth now...

A couple of years ago I never bothered backing up ... then when installing some new software (which fiddled with my system files ... it was Bootcamp which allowed Windows XP to run on my Mac), it refused to boot up ...... long story short, £400 and 5 hours of work later at a professional recovery company (HoneyLight in London) I got all my files back. Since then I've backed up to an external hard drive every evening - if my laptop dies / gets stolen / gets corrupted, I've got a mirror copy on the external drive ... no way I'm risking that again! I hope your friend is able to retrieve his stuff ok

I am seriously thinking of a trip up to Lakenheath - this has two of my interests. The airbase as based on various POTNers images in the Transportation fora photography seems very much alllowed and the somewhere nearby Lakenheath Fen RSPB reserve for the bird opps. No idea whether a group meet for such distance would be of interest but at this stage I think a long weekend i.e. two days in the area to catch both opps. and nice pub food & a beer or two.

Sounds very cool Laurence :) I would be up for a trip like that - could hire a 100-400 for a few days! :D

David :)

Ayup - I don't delete images from my memory cards until I have them on 2 hard disks.

Sweet man, sound's good. Loud music is great, i had 2x 15" pioneers in the back of my 80s mirage back in NZ and blew the back window out driving down the motorway.

Its all about doing damage with a sound system, my 12" JL Audio sub made my cd player skip like crazy and shook windows on shops as I drove past them!! :D

If you could get me Mitesh that would be awesome, do we have any idea of location and time yet, I'll most likely have to sort the kids before we head off!
