Ok, after some more reading last night while in bed, I think I can settle for a slight crop, if it give 10 fps! I think the mk2 5d is a gimic, we have a video camera now that does the job and for pretty much the same price as that, you can pick up a mkIII, it really is a no brainer!! :D

Easy solution, spend the 3k wedding money on the Mark III and get married in Burger King or something :) Everyone's a winner!

I would have loved a 1DmkIII instead of the 5DmkII, but the 1 series is just too heavy/big for the photography i like to do. I think i would find myself leaving it at home more often than i would a smaller bodied camera such as the 5D.

Heavy yes, but beautifully weighted.

The 3k has already been spent, well most of it! :(

I love the weight in the 1d, after playing with Kevin & Warren's, I think its the right way to go, Kevin's had the 85l attatched too and it just felt soooo right!! :D

haha, I spend all my money on camera stuff and now I have to pay for the wedding! One thing is straight, I'm not selling the camera kit to fund the wedding lol!! Only thing that may bite the dust is the 50 F1.2L.

Wedding costs certainly mount up...whens ur date? We are August 8th

Finally got the WFT working how I want it!

that's one fiddly bit of kit.
If you don't know your networking, beware!

Now I can shoot away all I like in the field (no need for any wireless router), and within 15-30 seconds the images are imported into lightroom with captions etc. ready for reviewing/publishing

Very impressive Rich, sounds like a good buy!

I will give them both a quick test before I decide, so far the 17-55 is winning the race...

Update: Just bought the 17-55 2.8 IS, yay! Thanks to David for the good advice :D

Sounds good Rich.

If I could run the same gear, my netbook laptop would be left on in my backpack and ready to email out if I was out and about. Ill have to research some more on where I move my work to next.

COngrats Laura!

w00t! Just got a call from an event organiser about some local work in my area. Be few sport for youth events at a place down the road from me. :) Possibly meeting him on Thursday.

Just need to find out if a CRB check is needed.

Good stuff! If they're under 16 you might need a CRB check...

Wonder if I should do a gear page thingy on here, but not sure why we do them - for the sake of satisfying the curiosity of others or is it vanity?!
