That is an awesome shot, very sharp and a nice angle. I think it is a tad overexposed tho, the tops of the wings are blown out and you can't see any detail.

As a rookie still learning, the shot seems perfect to me. What do you mean "blown out" and do you have any pics you can post for comparison. I realize it takes a trained eye, but the shot looks crisp as could be to my "weekend photographer" eyes. Can you explain, and what would you do to improve it?

Once again, the more you learn about taking good pics, the more you need to learn about taking good pics!! When does the cycle end????

Thanks for any advice

The white in the aircraft is too white. You've lost detail in the fuselage. It's great as far as sharpness, composition and timing though, imho.

What I mean by blown out is the white surfaces on the aircraft that are into the sun are too bright or overexposed. See how they kinda hurt the eyes sort of speek, and any of the detail on the wing surfaces are washed out. It was hard for me to do an edit with a small image file, maybe someone else can do something better. Take away some Brightness and a tad down on the Exposure. What your looking for is a nice solid white color but also to have the entire picture properly exposed.

My first thought was WOW! I can see merit in the others' comments about being slightly overexposed. To see the difference, look at the seams between the panels just below the cockpit (in shadow). See the detail and definition between the panels? If it was that way across the entire top of the aircraft it'd be perfect.

I'm sure you're just tickled pink to get a shot like that. I know I would be. All of this is just being SUPER NIT-PICKY. You should blow that bad boy up and hang it on a wall.
