Just a quick question or 2:

Thinking about getting the honlphoto gobo/bounce card (external link), but description says the honlphoto speed strap (external link) is required. Is it really, though? I already have a cinch strap from Lumiquest which has the velcro loops on the outside of it so that the LQ Softbox etc which has the velcro hooks can connect to it.

Does the honlphoto speed strap have the same arrangement of loops on the outside? From the photos online it does appear so, but not conclusive so thought I'd quickly check here. Or perhaps more correctly I should be asking does the gobo/bounce card have the hooks and it can connect to my LQ cinch strap?

The speed strap is just a strip of velcro that's rubberised on one side and has the soft side of the velcro on the other. Nothin' more complicated than that.

I bought a couple of the gobos then realised that I could get the same effect by buying some adhesive velcro and black/white cardboard or plastic... which can be any size I like. The Honl ones look nice and professional but if you find the right bit of plastic etc. it can look just fine.

Thanks for the quick answer, Jim. By the soft side, you do mean the loops rather than the hooks? I understand it's a simple concept and a DIY would be easy, but they're only $12 and I'm making an order anyway so thought I'd throw them in.
