nice set of photos, like the backflip the most. flash really worked. the last picture is a really different take on the series, i cant help thinking if you cropped on the left heel it might give a nice picture.

Nice crisp photos, but too much sky and not enough context.

thanks for the comments guys, i am extremely happy with how these turned out at first attempt. im now looking at more bike events, any ideas UK peops?

but too much sky and not enough context

yeah possibly, although the only other things i could of got in shot with all the crowds were the back of peoples heads and flag poles hehe. i think the jump shots have a nice sense of height?

They're the one's I was more concerned about. The problem with just a rider in the sky is there is absolutely no context by which to gauge the height and size of the trick. Sure, he's doing a backlfip, but what's to say it's not into a foampit?

Even with the crowd and that in the shot, it gives some sense of grounding and a context to the photo that you really want to capture when it comes particularly to MTB and BMX. One of the main rules is to show where the rider has come from, and where they're going to - that is, give some real context.

Exposure wise these are great, and the static shots are fine, but the aerial ones just lack a little in composition.
