I took advantage of the 40 degree weather yesterday to go down to the beach for some winter shots.

SUN! ,.. the ocean,. and SUN!

Wow,... thanks for reminding us there is more to see than the inside of a dark theatre, our pillows, and dirty snow :)

Beautiful shots, Scott.

I usually associate beach shots with palm trees and tropical breezes. This looks cold, though.

We don't have any dirty snow here. Just sand. Lots of sand. At least it's not dirty sand. That would be like dirty dirt, and would technically be a double negative.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Great shots Scott. 3 is my favorite. Were you using a polarizing filter?

Lots of dirty snow left in NYC. I was using a B&W 77mm CPL. To get the 3rd shot I laid on top of a Hefty garbage bag to get eye level with the water. I had to jump up fast a few time as the waves came in farther then I expected.
Thanks for your comments.
Scott

Since I got my dog, the only time I see beaches like that are on TV.

Nice shots, I used to live in Bel Harbor up the road - Riis is actually Queens, NY - no?

I really like the 1st shot, the reflection creates a real nice feel, crisp and clean.

OOOPs! When you live in Brooklyn, Riis Beach seems like just an extension. The bridge should have given it away! Queens it is!

Which would, I guess, make it clean sand. I sure wish hoovering was this easy.

Yes Riis Beach is Queens but just over the Marine Parkway Bridge if you come down Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn.
