I am wondering if there is a replacement for the 430ex that would suffice? I currently use these flashes- 430ex, 2 sunpak 383's & an SB-80dx. All are wonderful except that 430ex only because I have to keep the extra foot/connector for the skyport and it drives me nuts (it never feels sturdy enough with that on) and plus I hate how it shuts off on it's own sometimes (very embarrassing fiddling with the most expensive flash during a shoot). Would it work to have another SB of some type or am I forced to get a 580? It would seem I could get an SB-26 or 80dx or not sure of the other ones that would work- and either put them in the hotshoe if wanted, or connect a skyport so all of mine can fire off camera. Right now I can fire all off camera and it's what I prefer although obviously sometimes I'd like one in the shoe and one to fire optically.

Any advice would be GREAT!!

The 430EX auto shutoff can be turned off at Cf01. Simple enough to do. As to the foot, I use one with my Cybersyncs and have not noticed any issues. They seem quite secure.
