These are two of the newer donkeys at the shelter, they are a matched pair and sweet as all get out. Comments and Suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

Wouldn't change a thing. Nice portrait!

What's the backstory on the "shelter?"

Same, portrait. What's happened to the fore donkeys left ear or is that a birth defect?

Thank you for the kind comment. The shelter is on the eastern plains of Colorado and is incorporated as a non-profit organization. It takes in unwanted/homeless donkeys and some that had been sold for slaughter and trains and rehabilitates them, so they can be adopted. www.longhopes.org (external link)
They are kind enough to let me visit, and take pictures. The two in the picture Ryder, and Ollie (fore) have so much personality. Over the weekend, Ollie kept stealing my car keys out of my pocket and running off with them.

What a marvelous organization!

I must admit I've not heard of them before but I've bookmarked them for future reference.

I really don't know why his left ear is different then his right. He is about 4 years old now, and has been at the shelter for about 3 months. He is just oozing with personality and really likes to tease and play.
