OK, my prediction. I'm just looking at info in this thread at another forum... http://forums.dpreview.com …rum=1032&message=29343826 (external link) and see that Canon has added a new headline in their campaign... "EOS Evolution for Everyone". I'm wondering if we will see something compelling in the technology that results in them announcing a whole new EOS line-up. The 50D announcement being early wouldn't fit this, but who knows... maybe that was part of the teaser to throw us off.

Ya mean like without saving money to buy one?

Wow, what a novel idea! ;)

I shoot 40+ weddings per year... I shoot 5d's because i cant justify buying a 1ds @ 8k per. the 1d I could justify, but not buying a crop camera

It makes sense. Really interested to see if they come out with a new 1D body.

remember the rumor around the release of the 1DsMKii.. everyone thought they would merge the pro product into one camera.. Could this be happening? kill the Ds and just have one pro camera like the D3

My take is that they have released a product for everyone.
From Consumer (1000D)-> Pro (1Ds)
Its just a matter of time to find out what they intend to do with the top end of the line.

Yes, the new camera will have 3 sensor modes, FF, 1.3x and 1.6x, and will be able to use any EF or EFS lens, and green box will shoot just like the G or S series point and shoot, thus will be for anybody. ;)
