Super stuff Andrew...

Interesting to see the "Boss" doing something that I was taught not to do:
Notice his head angle... My CFI always taught me to keep my head paralell to the wing line and don't crook my neck to keep the head upright...

Of course, he's commanding the BAs and I fly a Cessna...

Thank you both Jay and Frank far less than ideal conditions but you do what you can with what you have. Here are a couple more the shot of F/A could have been good without all the clutter.

A "very" nice set Andrew. :)
I wonder if anybody has ever managed to scrape the tail end when making such an abrupt upward thrust as in the third image?
-Bruce

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Nice set. Too bad about the conditions. Very nice Super Hornet shots.

I'm ashamed to admit it but:

I took my final "stage check" with the same examiner who gave me my final check ride to earn my private pilot certificate.

I made the mistake of setting a chart on the glare shield prior to take off and when I rotated, the chart fell off and hit the floor. I got distracted, over rotated and banged the aft tie down lug firmly on the runway before we lifted off. Trying really hard not to panic, I completed the climb to pattern altitude (1000' above ground level), very carefully checked the rudder and elevator operation and decided (as pilot in command) we'd continue the flight.

I actually got high marks from my examiner because I didn't try to grab the chart nor pick it up off the floor until we were safely off the ground. :)

As for the "jet jockies," they fly airshow demos at such light wing loadings and their power/weight ratios are so near or beyond 1:1 that when they point the thrust vector downward...they're going up right now!

I don't think they could scrape the burner cans if they wanted to... LOL...

QUOTED IMAGE

That's so cool. We never get to see prop vortexes out here in the SW because we don't have the moisture in the air to get squeezed out.

I'm guessing that it's the BAs rental cars that are baggin' you here...

Thanks for the words but sadly to say all shots except the Super Hornet takeoff were with the 500MM.. your 100-400 will do just fine no need to fret.;)

Andrew,

Some very awesome shots, and I still have lens envy with regard to the 500

The Super on TO is awesome. I'm looking to finally buy a 100-400 this week. Then buy the 500 come sometime next year. Plus, go to more airshows.

Are you shooting all Focus Points, or just Center?
