so far, i only have UV haze filters on my lenses (mainly for protection). however, i have been doing more reading and am starting to see that ND filters and polarizers are commonly used as well, and that there are other filters that do stuff that you just can't replicate in PP (well, you can, but it's a bit more work that i am trying to avoid). Granted that PP is FTW and brings out the best in your photos, I'd like to get into the habit of being satisfied with my exposures without having to do the extensive PP route. I'm sure i'll still continue to post process when absolutely necessary.

that being said, which filters are must-haves in your bag?

The ones I use most are a Circular Polarizer and a Cokin system with 1 & 2 stop Neutral Grads.Thats all I carry and mostly need, plus the UV as a protector.

CPLs, rectangular (Singh Ray) ND grads and a couple of 1-2 stop straight ND screw-ins make my list. The straight NDs are for prop aircraft on brightish days.

CPL, UV, and a Lee or Cokin filter system for ND Grads.
