On a recent trip to Yosemite I had a chance to head up to Glacier point. Though the Telegraph fires were still blazing just outside the park and the valley was quite smokey I was able to get this pano. It's 5 hand stitched pics 10500 by 2500 pixels. Taken with the 17-55 with a polerizing filter at 17mm. The second pic is a 100% crop of the pano of Yosemite falls both upper and lower.

That top image is epic. It looks like something out of a Tolkien flick. Nice job stitching them together.

Thanx for the comments and the picture does not do the view justice. It truly was spectacular.

Very nice pano. Glacier Point is amazing! You need to go back in May, when the falls are really flowing hard. It's pretty awsome. Great work.

#1 is great! Real nice. #2 seems a little out of focus on my monitor, but the view is spectacular!

Shrinking the pano down to 1200 pixels really kills a lot of the detail as the orriginal is huge, 10500 pixels edge to edge. The second pic is simply a 100% crop of the orriginal.
If you look close on the left hand side you can spot Yosemite falls. The detail in the posted pic is not that great as the resixing is tossing out 9 out of ever 10 pixels, but it's there.

Nice pano John. Too bad about the smoke. It would've been better if it wasn't there. I command you to return and do another pano! :)

Maybe I missed it (I looked again)...what software did you stitch them together with? Sucks about the fires...

All images were taken in manual so that there was no change from shot to shot but the images themselves were hand stitched. I aligned them as closely as possible and then just erased parts of the top image. I used natural terrain to make the seam as seamless as possible.

Thanx, it did come out well. The original is huge at 10500 pixels from left to right.
