Anyone notice the "B" on the mode dial, above the "M" (Manual) and below the "C1" (Custom 1)? I have never heard of B mode before. Do we know what it is for?

LOL...

"BULB" ;)

Is this what you're looking for?

AF micro adjustment * • Adjust all lenses by same amount (effectively body adjustment)
• Adjust up to 20 lenses individually

Cha Ching - OK, I'll buy it.

The quality of the clips off the Korean site is quite simply: Stunning...

I'd have bet all five of my Emmys that quality this good was a long way off but...

It may not be broadcast quality (yet) but it's certainly far beyond simply YouTube .. WebCast level.

Wow...

where is this korean site that you're talking about. Is there a downloadable hd video file? Link would be great!

Some movies can be found here: http://web1.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/eos5dm2/02.html (external link)

It is a "japanese" site. Close to Korea. ;)

A bit slow loading though.

Just to be clear, I would set to "B" mode instead of Manual and shutter at "bulb" (as I would do with my 40D, currently)?

The battery really isn't news to me. As a consumer my interest is in the camera and the battery is just something i put into the camera to make it work. Yes, it's nice to know how much juice is left, but why'd they spend money there when the could have spent money grafting over the 45AF pt system from the 1-series? aargh. i think they shot themselves in the foot. the battery is not large or particularly heavy, and i could easily carry a spare if i needed to.

9AF pt really kills it for me. the lack of weather sealing is off-putting too.

OK i like the higher resolution, but i reckon most 5D users were not clamouring for more pixels, and if they wre there's the 1DsMkIII to satisfy that craving.

I have no use for the HD1080p recording. YET.

ISO6400 is useful, and at this point in time it may be the only reason why i am considering this body. I'm seriously looking at a used 5D now knowing that the AF is still non-pro.

Why

5DMkII, 1DMkIII, EF135f2L, EF85 f1.8 MkII, EF85 f1.2L MkII, SIGMA EX 50 f1.4, EF50 f1.8, EF35f1.4L, EF70-200f2.8L IS, EF24-70f2.8L, EF16-35 f2.8L MkII, EF28-135 IS, CZ Jena Tessa 50 f2.8, Kenko pro 300 1.4X TC, 580EX, 430EX, Manfrotto 190 PRO-B, Bowens Esprit 2x500W kit, ST-E2, Elinchrom skyport
Previously owned bodies: 1D Mark IIN, 1D Mark II, 5D (x2)
Wish list: 1DMkIV, 300f2.8L IS, 200f2.0L IS, 85 f1.2L

If you really need pro AI go for a 1Ds MkIII :D

Sorry it disappointed you. I truly am. I wish this camera could deliver what everyone wanted.

Lucky for me, I am happy with what Canon have put forward. I sure am glad I am not a "nay-sayer". :D

sRAW1 lets you take 10mp photos if you wish. So I'm just saying, if you don't want/need 21mp (which we don't most of the time). We don't need to shoot with it.

Personally, I'll be shooting in sRAW1 for most things. :D

Observing that the competition hands out more features at the same price point is hardly nay-saying. If high resolution is your only demand, this looks like a great camera. If you want fps, weather sealing, pro a, a more PJ-style camera maybe? d700 is the thing. I'm a bit let down that canon have such a hard time putting on better enviromental seals on the non 1d series bodies. It can't cost them many usd to implement OR to produce, so it is purely a protective descision. I suspect that canon might lose customers over this feature alone. Combined with other things.. well, maybe we should hope for a 3d at PK? :)

For me? I still don't know. The resolution and iso performance sounds very tempting. Ironically enough I would love the iso performance at concerts! But at concerts people spill beer/water/booze over the photographers all the time, so I don't know if I would dare bring it :P

I guess I'll get one nevertheless, I have saved the money for one and have waited for it since february, I just can't help feel a bit let down :/

I am both very excited and somewhat disappointed all at the same time. I don't know what to make of it!

Over 400 people are viewing the Camera forum and this thread has had over 6000 views. All in less than 2 hours.

Dudes. This is ONE heck of an anticipated camera. :D

Again I will say it. It seems (after the initial posting rush died down) people have been discovering (ie reading more carefully) more and more features that address some "problems" this camera has.

Looks super nice to me. I'm a savin'

Slightly confused with your wording but setting to "B" mode doesn't allow you to set the shutter via camera... you manually decide how long you want the shutter open and close it by hitting the shutter release again.

Whats with some of you people? How quickly everyone forgets that just a mere FOUR years ago, you couldnt touch a full frame digital camera for under $8k. Now people piss and moan because of dumb little things Canon didnt include? You REALLY thought they were going to include features from the 1Ds on a camera costing $5k less? LOL

To everyone whining, please feel free to go spend another $5k to get your extra AF points and your better weather sealing and leave this camera for those who know that $2600 for a 21 megapixel, full frame camera is a STEAL!
