And how does that help the frame rate?

(See, they will always find something to criticize.)

Especially psychic ones who know for a fact the 5D II is going to suck.

Awesome! Im just glad this is not an $8000 camera!

Canon says it will have the best I.Q. and best at high iso then any other Camera they have made, that is worth the price in itself, If you want fps get a 1d the 5d never was a sports camera!

so you know "casual shootrs" that spend that kind of money for a camera? to me a casual shooter is more in the market for the xxxd series. if not they gotway more money than brains, like the video use it, if not don't use it. everythng else about the camera has it right up to their flagship 1d series as far as iso ranges and megapixels. i am sure the 1d series is much better, but canon is not going to give and upgraded 5d II model that out performs its 1d series. common business ecomnomics says it won't happen. only after a highly upgraded 1d series (which will have video as well) will the 5d series get the more fps possibly and all things that everybody was hoping for this time.

I believe people have the right to spend their money on whatever they want, as long as other parts of their life don't suffer.

If I want to spend $4000 on camera gear to take pictures of my cat I should be able to without being called "stupid."

It seems people that make comments about things like this are the ones that drive a $45,000 3 ton truck back and forth from their 600 sf apartment to their 6x4 cubicle. (not saying this is you. it has been my experiance.)

I have a 20D and my girlfriend has a 40D. I showed her this camera and all she said was WOW. Next was $2699! Then I showed her the movie mode samples and explained a little bit more about it, and she said "you need to get one", "when are you getting one?" I've always wanted to move to full frame and this seems like a good time for me to. Do I NEED FF? Do I NEED a 5D mk2? Am I a pro shooer? No. Can I purchase one and still easily make all my bill payments? Yes. So why not?

anyone else notice the camera does not even pan in any of these sample shots? i suspect it to be hardly any better than the D90 in handling the "rolling shutter" effect.

my bet is there is some jelly distortion in motion.

i will have to admit, the DoF of the 85mm 1.2L II video is astounding; but i think an XH A1 + Letus Extreme + 85mm 1.2L II can be MUCH more versatile.

I haven't read all the fast moving posts so hopefully I'm not posting something that's already been done.

Click this link for high ISO 5D Mark II samples (external link)

I am going to be honest here and say those look like poo. Is it that hard to get something, anything in focus? I looked and not one of those pictures was ANYTHING in focus. Was this person blind?

It is hard to tell but I will wait to see actual real life shots that are in focus when using high iso.

The rolling shutter effect is caused by using a variable exposure, I believe. You can lock the exposure on the 5D to prevent this. Unless I misunderstand what you are saying. But the 5D is better than the D90 when it comes to every other video feature, so there is no reason to suspect it won't be better in this dept.

I thought I read that the 5D II only has +-2 Exposure Compensation?
According to this page, it's +-4.

Unless that's only for bracketing, which I don't think it would be.
