I had to take a better look to notice what it actually was, foolish me! Nice job. Alex | flickr

The next frame of photos shows the following: Reduced micro lens gap Canon have stated that the gap between microlenses has been reduced compared to the original EOS 5D, although there is still some gap (the EOS 50D has a 'gapless' design). We are guessing that the gap has been maintained to enable a shifted pattern near the corners of the frame (which helps reduce fall-off on such large sensors). Not what the original 5D was, but definitely not "gapless". Take a second look at his image. Also notice the grin smiley he used. I fell for it as well. Alex | flickr

I'm a little late to the party, but this is certainly some interesting news to come home to. ![]() And I see there are multiple controversial threads to choose from as well. Probably a lot of angry folks not satisfied with Canon's latest offering and threatening to switch over to Nikon once and for all. Why would any of this not surprise me? ![]() ~Spaceships Don't Come Equipped With Rear View Mirrors~

This is a hard act to follow. I don’t think that Canon could have put out a replacement for the 5D that would have made everyone happy. They put out the best product they could and some people are going to hate it and others will love it. Absolutely right, I've been saying this for over a year. Moreover, most of those dissing the 5d MKII, I would venture to say, have never held a 5d in thier hands. A Camera - A Lens -- Gear Doesn't Matter

For example, I think people who keep threatening to jump to Nikon if Canon doesn't release a great camera with all the features only they deem important are whiners. Canon did not release the Rebel 1000 for Rebel owners, they did it for P&S owners to upgrade. The 50D was to get people to upgrade from the Rebel, not the 40D. Similarly, if you already have a 5D, you may not like the 5D II, and that's OK... but don't automatically assume it's crap, yell that at the top of your lungs, and then not expect some flak to head your way (I am using "your" in the generic sense here). For those of us jumping up to the 5 level camera, like I plan on doing, this is a great product at a decent price. Just let us be happy about our decision, OK? I'm down with that. I guess emotions are running high right now on both sides--the euphoria of a great camera coming out soon for some and the disappointment for others. I might have to ease off the keyboard for a while until people get over the initial excitement/letdown. Too many talkers and not enough listeners. And I can definitely see how people repeating the same complaints over and over would get tiresome. I'm guilty of that, so... gotta try to tone down myself.
