Oh, come on. The technical explanation is very convincing... but can someone point me someone who experienced problems with the already-amazing older 24/1.4 because of the lack of this new coating ? :) So now... I suppose they will come with newer versions of many other lenses with this new coating? Pseudo-problem-fixing marketing hoax or real improvement ??

if it's a better lens -- and i'll bet it is -- that's a good thing, right :D?

I don't know. I'll wait for side-by-side comparisons :)
Honestly, I really don't know how can you bet that the 24/1.4 can be improved... that thing is such a jewel that I'm conviced that even the makers themselves cannot beat it. Technology advances at fast pace, I know, but you know... physics has its limits and when you hit them with a quality product such as the 24/1.4, I really don't see how you can go beyond.

hmmmmm.
I rather bet that side-by-side comparison will show a tie :)

Where is the new 100-400 or 200-500 or something? Why replace another prime when the zoom needs it so much more?

I don't get it! CANON introduces version II of a lens that is excellent and no one ever complains about when there's a line of lenses that NEED redesign. Oh wait, I get it, it is a marketing/$$ thing ... yup. This lens must make them a huge profit. Whatever, I'm buying one ASAP ...

Hm.. I'm fine with my 24 L for now. I don't think it's worth upgrading...

I was almost certain that the 35L would've seen a replacement/upgrade, and although I'm not surprised to see the 24L II (or even a 35L II in the near future), I can't comprehend why Canon would want to upgrade these already awesome lenses.

Nonetheless, I'm quite eager to test out of these myself!
