I'm at Park Cameras next Tuesday the 18th for a Canon Pro day. Might be some news then?

Those are some expensive cameras! That is in Yen I assume.

I did notice the price at B&H on the MKIII was reduced by about $300 somewhere in the past two weeks. This would explain it.

What does it mean? Who knows.

Heck today in the local photostore I heard a Canon rep say that yes they did plan to announce a 1D MK IV this month but in the last minute they discovered a serious issue with the AF. An issue worse than on the 1D MK III so they have to postpone at least 6 months. Who can tell if this is true or not ?

Starting an AF problem rumor before the camera is even announced or released is beyond cruel.

I had to do a double take, understood it was meant as an example.

Then I wondered what rumor monger would read it, take it out of context, and send it into the rotating oscillatory deivce to go around the internet.

Hong Kong dollars. $1USD is $7.8HKD.

1D Mark III = $3576 USD (NEW PRICE) though on the streets they're about $29,400HKD (which will come down more with the price decrease). So on the streets now they are about $3700USD (which will come down to probably $3,300USD on the streets I guess).

(practically though, I divide by 5, because basically the Aus Dollar is around that much and everything is about $5 = $1 rate).

$10HKD is about 1 British pound though. Which I guess is where they get the rate from (being an ex-british colony).

Though, I'm so use to HKD now, I have trouble thinking of things in USD or AUD terms.

Consider it as entertainment

And all of these sages feel the need to do it in a new thread, as their info is so important and ground breaking that the four existing threads on the same rumor aren't good enough...

We must be getting close to a new model!. The all seeing CDS has taken notice and merged the threads.

There is a top avaition pro over on FM that is very well connected with Canon. He was told to expect a new camera with in the month to play with. He shoots MKIII and 1DSMKIII's....wouldn't make sense for Canon to see him anything other than the next series 1 body.

This and the price drop of the MKIII is looking pretty interesting.

I won't trust Geoffrey's predictions/wishes/rum​ors.

He once said the 450D and 450Ds would be full frame. He also once claimed the Mk 2/3/4... designations were reserved solely for 1D series cameras, not the 5D. Just look through his previous posts.

first hand - the photog's work for one of the major outlets and said they saw the camera in their offices - they are using a lot of 5D's now because of the video features and are looking forward to using a pro camera with video.
