There's been many in the rumours section for a while now. Maybe tomorrow they can be posted in here, rather than rumours.

Spec wise we are not looking at full frame but APC-H which is a 1.3 x crop. Not as much as the 1.6x crop of the 7D but not the full frame of the 5dmkII. Also the megapixel count is lower at 16mp.

True, but it's nice to know that 16 MP on a 1.3x crop is equivalent to 26 MP on FF regarding pixel density. This is also the same pixel density as the 10 MP 40D, but with much larger pixels spread out over a 58% larger sensor area.

I've browsed a little bit through all the 1D IV threads in Rumors, and I don't believe this has been posted yet:
http://www.canonrumors.com/2009/10/1d-mark-iv-cr1-2/ (external link)

Could very well be a photoshop based on the 1D Mk III, but the "EOS-1" logo seems a bit higher for the mic port right beneath it... so if it's a fake, whoever created it at least thought about the video feature.

You would think they would bring out the 1D Mark IV before the 1D Mark V? They already had the 1D Mark IV rumors long before this.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

IV is pronounced the same as "death" in Japanese, so Japanese companies try to avoid it, take the Street Fighter series...

Thanks for that post. There's also a pronounced protrusion forward of the lower side flap (just up and to the right of the Mark IV label) that is not on the 1DIII. I wonder what that's making room for?

Maybe it's a flip out LCD screen, or built in flip up LCD screen shade.

My best guess is that they added one more input or output slot there, maybe related to video?

So 9pm on the west coast, perfect! Right before bed-time! Although, if this is as exciting or more than the 7D release, I won't sleep at all and be groggy at work tomorrow, lol.

Preparing to buy 1D Mark IV, do you suppose there will be accessories pre-orderable along with the camera (such as spare battery)? I'm also considering getting one of those 32 GB Sandisk Extreme Pro CF cards.
