I think Mr Shrimper has joined the gang that are 'blacking out' all avatars, images and the like on all their profiles in protest against the new law that's coming in to effect in NZ soon, whereby all torrenting is deamed as piracy and copyright infringment without question or trial, and they ISP just switches your connection off.

Or at least that's how it was explained to me...

I fully realise that torrenting is used extensively for pirating software etc, but it is by no means its only use, and assuming by default you're breaking the law without asking and switching you off, is I think, a very nasty state of affairs, if not in terms of morality, then in terms of implications. No-one yet though has explained to me how switching everything black actually makes a difference... ?!

Cheers, Dave.

Probably similar to a protest a while back where people inverted the colours on their internet pages, White text on black background. I can't remember what that was for either.
I don't use torrents anyway as my connection is too slow, & I enjoy films with full Dolby digital surround over my stereo.

I thought P2P and torrents were hard to police as the 'parts' come from loads of different computers all over the planet with no particular IP.

because if they turn us off this what we would like - hence the blackout.

well actually it would look like this...

its all about freedom of speech and also the fact you are guilty until you prove your innocence. goes against all human rights. anyway no politics here. moving on.

*and it is photography related as it is a copyright act they are bringing in....

You can download films with Dolby Digital and/or DTS from the interwebs. There are likely pirates with similar tastes to you who make it possible

picture time...

Love the first one. I think the area on the right, where you can see the bridge, draws the eye away though.
