I figured it was too good to pass up and If I decide the upgrade over the 40D isn't worth the $4k to me then I'll just flick it on in a few months as they will be retailing for $5999 aparently. Would love to take the 40D to Iron Maiden tonight but am pretty sure it would get taken off me / me not allowed in. Congrats. Sounds like a good investment. Mark Vuleta wrote in post #7378765 Yeah! What's up with all these photo's?? ![]() Reflective visors are quite cool! ![]() But, eyes are good too! ![]() Very excellent. Nice seeing the eyes. I agree the reflective visor also looks cool. I actually like the event but it concerns me that the people walking up & down the footpath, either side of the main straight are not even looking at the bikes!. Bit of plastic (hopefully waterfilled) barrier and some very light weight poorly supported mesh fence between them & the riders. Bikes doing close to 280km at the end of the straight and you can be within 4 feet of them!! And people are not even looking! On boxing day at Wanganui, a rider clean cleared the barriers and went flying over them at the nasty left hander over the bridge. He did not move - and did not move all the way to the ambulance. I have not heard since how he is, but since I didn't see any "if it bleeds, it leads" type stories on the news after it, I figure he got out of it alive at least. Just two races before, I was stand right where he went off (non-public area). While I was standing there I always kept one foot behind me so I could turn fast and jump down the bank behind me into the trees. Pretty crazy stuff when you think about it really. Mark Vuleta wrote in post #7378851 I will go again next year but will contact the orgainisers prior, there is a spot on the inside of the hairpin coming onto the main straight that has a veranda just about out to the apex of the bend. Just dying for a remote camera hanging off the veranda looking done onto the bikes for the "gauges" shot. I think a camera rig on a bike is actually the way to go..... now that'd be cool. We did some stuff like that recently at Pukekohe with a car - but only in pit lane and only going pretty slowly. Still got great results. The impossible has begun - another step closer - and I am very hungry for it.

It might go like Taupo where you cannot get to the infield at all. I hope I am wrong - but there ain't much run off on the infield so unless refuges are built, we may not be able to go inside there at all. It would be another great shame.
