Yeah I might have a look around.. I'm interested in it for boudoir photos - I've got some friends who want photos done, so they're my guinea pigs ... patterned is probably better than boring grey :)

Curtain material is pretty wide, and you can also shoot light through it to create a halo effect behind the head. (Read it in Practical Photography).

Feel free. The few I met today made me want to never go within a thousand miles of their country! :( I'm sure there are many Americans actually that are cool, dandy and fine, but dear lord, there are some total wierdos too! ?!

Te heheheheh.

Hey Dave, did you say "Cool Shot" in that motorsports thread? Tsk tsk tsk

Yeah, what Aaron said. Other than some aspects of it's lossless sound format support, the PS3 is one of the best blu-ray players you can get. (And I'm not gonna be upgrading my amp any time soon, so the other sound formats are irrelavant to me.)

I wanted Blu-ray for high def movies, plus the media capabilities without going to a full on HT PC. My son plays games (and so do I occationally.) So the PS3 was the logical choice.

I know what you mean... my bro-in-law visited a few weeks ago with his new toy and my jaw almost dropped... suffice to say that I swore that I wouldn't buy one till I am making enough decent money from photography... which means by the time I can afford the 5D it will be a Mark IX:lol:

I've been purposely not looking at that thread...

I Luuuurve mine :) so much so I am not sure how much I'll ever use the 40D again, so thinking about selling it, especially since now is such a good time and I'd also have to sell the 17-55 and the 10-20. Either that or I am toying with the idea of renting them out. What do people think? Much demand for pro-sumer models? That way it might make some money back and I get to have the backup still.Don't think there is much here in Chch doing the rentals of such equipment... Would certainly appreciate feedback on the ida though.

Ohhh, can it play .mkv files? Our projector has 720p res and I am sick of streaming low res divx to it. I was playing with the 360 lastnight funnily enough trying to make it stream media, got it working but it doesnt seem to like the .mkv format which most high def divx's seem to be. First time I had turned the 360 on in 15 months LOL I was quite shocked when I saw the last entry date.

Yeah it was a bit of tongue and cheek :p But seriously, they better option imo is to build your own XBMC box.

It's because with about 0.01% exception, Americans are retards. :p

Hmmm, ok, flip flopping again... From the US I can get it (Lumix DMC-ZS3 / TZ7) for around USD400 which puts it NZD100 cheaper than local. But of course that would mean warranty issues and power adaptor complications... For the sake of $100... Methinks I should suport local... Who's our favourite deal at the moment?? ;)

I hear that times have changed and now it is merely 'average' (as the original standalone blu-ray players weren't any good at all, but now they are).
