right lets get planning (and saving) for next year -

i am sure Tag will be keen to join us and maybe a couple of the other petrol heads here...

Do you want me to start the ball rolling ??

I would definately be interested, if it could be done relatively cheaply. It's on my list of things to do before I die.:D

THIS (external link) guy would have had kittens, and lots of them too, all for an Astra.

Yes... I've read that. What a freak. Reminds me of that song about taking your shoes off before getting into it, and kissing your car goodnight

If any one of you lot is interested in the V8s in Townsville in July. Chap from work just got a job there. He's assured me of accomodation (quite a bit apparently). It's an easy 4 hour drive from here to Townsville so even day trips could be arranged. I'm going, even on my own :(.

Apart from that I'd be in for a Bathurst trip. Accomodation is booked years in advance. I wonder if caravans wouldn't be the best bet.

Geez, I didnt think gardening was dangerous... Stuck in bed loaded with pain killers... My back gave after carrying so many bags of garden mix... I feel really old...

I hope you are feeling better John. Bob and Julia should be able to manage that pain!

Random photo of Tui today does not approve of such violation of a nice car. I'm **** scared of auto shops...the monkies in them.

Note: Yes should have fill flashed.

Thanks Bruce. I'd like to play with one of those self dosing ones... :p ... though the thought of having devastating injuries to have one of those gadgets hooked up to me throws me off;)

hmm Bathurst first... so you may need to add the price of flights to Aussie on the price ... ;) - however its in the memory bank for another trip....

right i will start looking into it...

Right -

The Motel Package consists of return airfares, a Ford Falcon rental car for 7 days, 2 nights Sydney hotel accommodation (one night either side of Bathurst), 5 nights Bathurst motel accommodation, 4-Day General Admission tickets and Travel Insurance.

Price depends on number of travelers but expect it to be around $2000 pp

Campervan Package will include return airfares, airport transfers, 2 nights Sydney hotel accommodation (one night either side of Bathurst), 4 or 6 Berth Campervan hire for 6 days, a campsite located right on Mount Panorama for 5 nights, 4-Day General Admission tickets and Travel Insurance.

Price for this really depends on the number of travelers.

6 people $1800 for one campervan pp
6 people $2400 for two campervan pp <- highly recommend this option for the campervan style trip - otherwise it gets really cramped

now booking is essential - i would say by January at the latest. so 50% deposit by end of Jan followed by balance paid by say 1 month before trip.

Tag flights from auckland / welly and chch however checking prices on flights its about the same for you to fly to sydney anyways.

Let me know what you guys think ...

That's not bad, factor in other travel costs and it could cost you about $3000 if your cheap.

It's tempting, but currently not affordable. Although that could change by early next year.

So long and thanks for all the flash
