Which Backdrops To Purchase?

Hey guys,

I'm getting my first flash and with Halloween around the corner would like to take my first try at some serious portraits. My question is, where do you purchase your backdrops from? I don't need anything fancy, just simple colors would do. My budget is $10-$20..Yeah, I know not much, but I can't afford a muslin for $60 . Oh and since I do only have one flash would I need anything else for studio like shots? If I can get good shots with the flash on camera with a STO-FEN than that'd be perfect. I just don't know if I should also buy a light stand, umbrella and a set of triggers to use the flash off camera or if I can get good results with the hotshoe flash. The flash is a Vivitar 285HV and should be here tomorrow!!

You can find backdrops at photo stores or specialty stores. The adventuresome use material from paper product or fabric outlets. The cheap and those who want something durable look for paint drop cloths at hardware stores.

Thanks! What size do most people use? I was thinking of going with the 100" wide ones that B&H carries.

Mine's 3m wide so that'd be about 100"... it's a very useful size.
