and others too! Thanks to all the answers you guys had for me on the Genesis lighting systems. I just ordered a 2 light set of the Genesis 200 umbrella series.

I also took Daves' advice and ordered an oval reflector and a large softbox from Amvona - they didn't have the 1497W, but a close replacement is the 1497M for $20 more. Amvona is VERY customer friendly and the tech took time to talk to an avowed lighting nube and then took my order. GREAT people. He also said that in the next few months, they will be getting in a lot of products to sell. Can't wait to see.

Softbox comes tomorrow, lights on Friday - I'm ready for the weekend.

Thanks for al lthe help. I look forward to more of the Genesis engineering experiments you are all doing.

Glad to be of assistance, NB. It's also good to hear you had a positive experience with Amvona. That's not always the case.

If you have any questions or issues once your lights arrive, we're here to help if we can.

Have fun. You'll love 'em I'm sure.

I'm hearing more good things about Amvona all the time. Let us know YOUR impression of the product after you've used it. Might have to go their direction for something.

Post a sample shot, too. Lots of fun!

It is nice to hear about Amvona. Their customer service has been in need of help but I've found their products like the reflectors to be fine. And the price is generally pretty good.

Not sure how to word this but I would still hesitate in ordering hardware from Amvona. While the price on stands and support systems is good it is about equal to the quality of the product. Reflectors, backgrounds don't offer much opportunity for screwing up and there isn't a lot of physical demands placed on them.

The quality of the several Amvona modifiers I own is absolutely fine in a Buick rather than Lexus sort of way. Price improves substantially if your order exceeds $100 at which point UPS ground shipping is free. Also, Amvona seems to have changed their business model and are no longer the hyperactive eBay'ers they once were. Unfortunately, that means the days of the $15 36" x 48" softbox are gone for good :(
