So $100 for the mod? Hm...not bad really. That's freakin' awesome.

If you know programming, you could do whatever your programming skills and the hardware permit, pretty cool thought.

Anyone know how to find a reference to Canon's USB interface, as far as programming goes? I've googled pretty hard, but can't seem to find anything about it: is it known, outside of proprietary apps?

Edit - Oh, wait, I guess he used the N3 connector. I take it there really is no known way to obtain access through the USB port, then?

For all you engineering students out there, I've read a guide that shows how you can program graphing TI calculators to be an intervalometer. It's out there on the web somewhere.

Reeeally simple job. Really.

Come to think of it, the price of this mod is cheaper than buying Canon's TC-803N. Probably has more features too.

If you already have a DS. If not, I'd be willing to bet that you probably have another device you already own that could connect to it more readily. Have a graphing calculator? A programmable cell-phone or PDA, maybe?

Not to be a jerk but this was posted previously, about 2 hours before the OP of this thread posted it.

Now I dont know if I would want to use a Nintendo DS as a remote control, especially if I am making money off of the pictures I am taking. Same goes for the Graphing Calculator. A Palm or other PDA on the other hand would be different, they look more professional, since they are also used to organize contact information, billing information, etc... I would love to get a program like the Homebrew app for the DS to run on my Palm, and a cable that I can use to connect the Palm to the camera. Right now I do have Noviiremote on my Palm with the Canon RC1 remote code, so that I can use the Palm as an RC1.

Cool, but why? From what I have read so far on this little mod, most of it can be done with the Canon Timer Remote.

So? I don't think an intervalometer is exactly something you're gonna bust out in a portrait session? And what's unprofessional about a calculator?

...not if you don't have the Canon Timer Remote, it can't...
