A recent photo I took of our littlest one... Caught him admiring his feet. :D

IMAGE: http://www-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/~aia21/photos/forums/IMG_7180.jpg

Taken with Canon 40D, 17-55 f/2.8 at 48mm, f/2.8, 1/30sec, ISO400.

C&C most welcome.

Best regards,

Anton

This is a lovely record for you to keep as a memory and his face is lovely & sharp. It's basically a clear high-resolution snapshot.

For a more critical perspective, in terms of absolute quality....from a composition point of view the shot for me is ruined by the distracting background and I would have preferred to see more of his legs.

You could try and rescue this shot by cutting out the background and perhaps replacing it with a solid colour or some fairly neutral patterning. You could improve the colour balance & perhaps brightness to lift the shot as it looks a little dark and the clothes look the blue side of white on my monitor.

Thanks for the constructive criticism! I will have to practice with Photoshop to change the background. I always find the area with hair flying about very hard to do... As to composition I completely agree, I should have moved the camera further to the right to get more of his feet into the shot (as it is I had some cropping to do on the left but this is as far right as it goes).

Looks like I really need to get some colour calibration widget. Does not look at all blue to my eyes/on my monitor. :( Thanks again.

Best regards,

Anton

Working with natural light you didn't have much choice, but I would have loved to see the foot in focus too, but for that you would have probably had to go to f/11 or more for that.
