I have a XTI and i am in the market for buying a backpack that will hold and protect my camera. I would prefer if it had the ability to hold a snowboard and some other gear. I really like dakine back packs and I was thinking of buying a Dakine Sequence.

Any one have any bad remarks about the sequence?

any good remarks?

or any other suggestions of what to buy? price range less than 150

thanks for your help

Check this review of the sequence here: https://photography-on-the.net …t=475994&highlight=dakine

Forum search "Dakine" results: https://photography-on-the.net …arch.php?searchid=2370176

I personally use the Canon backpack, just starting out myself and it works for me. Really do like the looks of the Sequence though :)

Bag is the 200EG, don't think I could carry a snowboard on it.

Live on the coast in the SE, don't see much snow here ;) I saw reference to a Burton bag elsewhere also which might work for you.

i have a burton zoom 28l , the 2009 model. I'm pretty pleased with it, well made, feels good on. I just used it as my laptop bag on a cross country flight, held my laptop and camera gear very easily, and was able to sneak it through as my second carry-on (although it is pretty tall). There a few threads around on the 2008 version, which I think is pretty similar.

I've checked out both the Burton Zoom (which I own) and the Dakine Sequence. Burton has really stepped it up. I'd go into the specifics, but there have been great reviews done already.

The main points are that the Burton Zoom now also has a camera block and fits better on your back than the Sequence does, well mine and my friends (5'11 and 5'8 ). I am in love with my Zoom. I can fit anything I need in there without the camera block, or a significant amount even with the block. I don't have that much gear yet, so I stuff clothes and what not into the empty half of the camera block to keep it full. (sometimes this is where the sandwich goes...)

The Zoom honestly has a pocket for everything. It even fits my Starbucks Party Thermos on the side in the oversized water bottle holder. (32 OZ metal thermos with two 8oz cups on each end)

Overall it is just a phenomenal bag. I would go here to see images:

My bag looks just like that except the inside is red not retro. Good luck!

I think that the pockets on the zoom are much much MUCH better organized. There is literally a pocket for everything.

The camera block in the zoom is better arranged to fit goods and what not. The oversized water bottle holder is amazing. There are also two hidden-ish pockets next to the waterbottle holder as well as side pouch that run the length of the backpack. The sequence pockets are much smaller.

Right now, I have my gripped xti, 24-70, kit lens, 50mm, random gadgets and some foam stuffed in the camera block, with 2 notebooks, a planner, novel, my laptop and a scarf in the main part with a waterbottle on the side, my power cord and wireless mouse on the side pouch, highlighters, ipod, headphones and pens in the top thin pouch, and cologne, deodorant and a toothbrush in the top pouch (where the cell phone is on the link) and its not too heavy.

Sorry I haven't posted pictures, I'm tending to my sick gf.
