I created a facebook fan page for the canon lens thermos to voice all the people that would purchase one if it was available to the public. http://www.facebook.com/canonlensthermos (external link)

Big white coffee mug update...

OK, I called and E-mailed Canon (CPS since they gave away the mugs)about the avalibility of this item to the general public and not those lucky enough to make it to the Olympics and be in the know with someone at Canon or be wealthy and famous enough for them to hunt you down. Here's a snip of my return e-mail:

The thermos is not offered for sale, however, we have forwarded a request to make them available for purchase through our Customer Feedback process. This process allows us to capture important feedback from our customers.
We look forward to your reply with the information we have requested.
Thank you for choosing Canon.
Sincerely,
Erik

since i'm drinking coffee all the time - it should be from one of these (even if its unauthorized)!

My guess is the non-coffee drinking (presumptively) hierarchy at Canon corporate does not understand how incredibly well these would sell in the coffee-drinking portion of the globe or they would already be milking us for $30 a pop! (but it would be worth it!)

my boss was hesitating to order because the min qty is 100! I told him to order it, it would be a huge success so he did lol
He said worst comes to worst we'll give it away with the purchase of a 5D or sometn
