I know that this is not scientific in any way but.......

A couple of days ago on the uk ebay site there were 74 listing of cameras and accessories for sale relating to the Canon 5D mark one. This morning there are 204.

People off loading old kit to trade up to the canon 5D Mark2? The marketing must be working!

I think wedding photographers will be jumping at the chance to upgrade.

The reason I say this is as large format prints become more common, the need for high megapixel images becomes greater. I'm sure a 40inchx60inch print would benefit from 10 extra megapixels.

Also, if you're in the market for 1D Mark II or even maybe III, other than the 1D's superior AF, you get almost everything else with the new 5D. I think its not a bad deal for $1000 less.
