Last Saturday saw a Battle of Britain event at East Kirkby, the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.

Only thing wrong with that ME, is that the engine is upside down!!

The Spitfire in flight is perfect. Great shot.

+1 for the Spit in flight

The group photo begs for a little vintage treatment

I can't imaging flying either the Spit or the Bf-109 (with their narrow landing gear stance) off grass. I've often wondered how many were wrecked in ground loop incidents during the war...

Actually, grass is easier as it is a bit more "slippery" but they have to be a handful on any surface.

True but asphalt usually doesn't have gopher holes, ant hills, mole runs, stumps, logs, soft spots, fox dens, etc...
