Spyder2pro vs. Spyder3pro for wide gamut LCD?

I have a Spyder2pro that I've used to good effect on older LCDs, but with a newer wide gamut LCD (Planar PX2611W) I'm not getting such good results. The screen looks too yellow--much yellower than the older LCDs calibrated to the same temps. Is this a limitation of the Spyder2pro, and would a Spyder3pro fix it? Are there any other wide gamut capable calibrators I should look at in the Spyder3pro price range if I'm gonna have to buy a new one anyway? Thanks for the info.

Well I haven't used any Spyders or wide gamut monitors, but I think you answered your own question. If the 2 isn't working, try 3. Make sure you can return it though. Then if it still doesn't work, it's the Spyder, and you may have to switch brands. But if it does, you're in luck! But you could return it, saying that it wasn't enough upgrade of features to keep it (then buy it cheaper online after).

I've read complaints about the Spyder2 not working on wide gamut screens.
Spyder 3 supposedly doesn't have those problems.

A search or google might find more opinions.
