Hoya CPL blocthieness @12mm

I have a hoya cpl for wide angle lenses. I dont know if its from me cleaning it or not, but at 12mm there is noticeable blotchieness. I used to be able to have it at 12mm and it would give great polarization across the fov. But now its either 1 end of the pic or just in the center. There's no uniformaty to it.

Should I invest in a new cpl for uwa's?

Post a sample? What grade CPL is it?

Using a CPL and an ultra wide angle lens generally doesn't work all that well as you'll get really dark and really light areas in the sky. That'll vary depending on where the sun is in relation to your CPL.

i have a 77mm hoya slim cpl. i've never had the dark spot/light spot area when I first got it. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

You'll get unevenness across a wide angle lens with polarizer. The effect is strongest at right angles to the sun, and an UWA covers so much sky that you can't avoid getting areas that are strongly affected along with others that aren't affected much, if any.

ok so its normal then. i guess I just never saw it before that it actually stood out.
