I like the location for the shots, but they seem too plain (snapshots perhaps). I'm not getting the vibe from the shots. Only one that stands out for me is #8, I like that one.

IMHO:
#1 does not work in BW because there is no specific place for the eye to go. no main visual subject.
#2and #3 need tighter cropping.
#3 - shoot over his shoulder - he can be a little out of focus to capture her expression. an example.
#5 is okay.
#6 back ground needs work - i find my self looking at her purple shirt and jacket - not there faces.
#8 drop the camera down to a low perspective and pp in B/W. If the subject are dressed closer to the traditional Black/white - this can work.

There are good threads here of really good wedding shot. Look for cropping examples and angles pictures where taken. Take notes and carry them w/ you.

I'm w/ Choomps.... no energy or 'vibe'......
Keep going ....

Any suggestions?? I guess I see that most are kinda "head on" shots... Need to try some angles and things... Crop tighter... Any other suggestions? Thanks guys!

I would probably try to isolate the bride and groom from the background a little more - longer focal length, wide aperture, and bring the people away from the background. Some of the flash appears to be direct and a touch harsh, maybe try a TTL off camera lead and small softbox?
Just my thoughts, cheers, Gary

I used flash with -1 exp compensation and Gary Fong Sphere on. Can't remember if it was pointed at them or up. Used few different lenses.. 70-200 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8 and 12-24f/4...

Next E-Session is gonna be at Alki beach sometime this or next week!!!

nice first try... I'd like to add... try not to center the couple in the center of the image for every shot... apply the "rule of thirds". When I shoot with a long lens... I like to be real close to the ground or really high up on a ladder. Shooting straight on very little.
