Those 2 sets do not look like they could have come from the same photographer.
The 1st set looks like something I (or any other marginal photographer) might have produced. The 2nd set looks like it was taken by a professional.

Is the difference in the PP, or are the shots coming out of the camera better?

Much better compositions! Your pp is much better too... As for CC, try to avoid front-lighting the couples with the sun... the eye-squinting is distracting. Next time, try using a long zoom and shoot the couple together more from a distance... while capturing some background. Your number 7 shot is kinda what I'm thinking about, but having the couple posing together, and with more bokeh in the background... overall better job!

WOW!! The composition dramatically improved from the 1st set to the 2nd! Very good work :)

I have a question. I am an extreme newbie. What exactly is an "E-Session" and what does TTL mean?

Thanks

Something I try to do is be more candid, rarely do I have the couple look into the camera, and show the connection between the two . Hope that helps

New shots are pretty good improvement on the first (not that they were bad.) Love how you pp - they give me a polaroid feel (but I also do alt. process photography too, so it might not work for a typical bride and groom.)

Good job!

Capturing the light

Your second set of images is much better than the first. However, I think your colour balance could do with some help. In general I see the same challenges with your images as with my own - lighting. It seems my images turn out too flat, or too contrasty. I see these same issues in many or the images you have posted. Perhaps someone more experienced can give us some pointers here...

Keep at it.. Congratulations on the paid gig.

i think you need to get a step ladder, how tall are you?

get a 4 footer, and shot downward, have your subjects look up just a tad at you..

get them to forget you are around, and have them talk and laugh, you just shot away..

just my two cents..

The second set is much better! Nice job. For taking shots of the bride with glasses on, can you borrow an umbrella and bounce the flash into her? Remember, the Fong difuser is practically worthless outside, especially if you're not bouncing the flash off of something.
