Yes, and you can easily go back to 2.0 if you so desire with a reinstallation. The database is unaltered, so no problems there.

Thanks for the info Fedka.

Real shame that Canon 50D isn't included in 2.1. Maybe they will add it in the final release.

I didn't read all the thread, so sorry if it's already been answered. LR 2.1 does unofficially support the 50D RAW files.

Notice the file name is a .cr2 and in the bottom right, notice the camera is the 50D.

Well, I put all of my Raws to an external drive hanging off my PC, slurped em into a freshly installed iMac, and installed 2.1RC. Then I copied over my latest Lightroom catalog, started up the app, pointed my library at the files new location and BOOM it all just worked cross architecture. Damn that's pretty slick. Gonna have to experiment with the tag exporting now, I probably won't redo the 2.0 ones that didnt get the right tags as I fixed them as I uploaded to Flickr for the most part, but it will be a HUGE relief to have all my tags export correctly again, was a huge PITA to do that twice on each picture.

I just got my 50d, and this sooo sucks! I rely on light room so much! I tried to use bridge but.. that... kinda sucked.. although it wasn't as slow as i thought it was. Bridge CS3 seems to load thumbnails and such much better than LR2 on my vista laptop.

Guys I KNOW THERE IS AWAY to hack LR2 to use CAMERA RAW 4.6. It must be like a dll file! but how??

Hmmm. Been using Lightroom official releases since it came out and have yet to have a crash. This is across three different systems using AMD & Intel as well as XP and Vista 64. I must be doing something wrong. ???

This is a worth while update, in particular for working with CS3 where all my problems have gone. Personally, I only use CS3 for sharpening and noise reduction these days. LR2.0 virtually does it all!! Use of CS3 now quite rare.

Has anyone had problems with the brush tool since "upgrading" to 2.1 RC? Now the black circle doesn't come out for me to see where the mask is. Used to with just plain 2.0.

Dang- and now I uninstalled 2.1 to see that 2.0 is doing it now too. What did I doooooooo

Edit: Found this tip on the lightroom forum: CNTL:H toggles the black dot mask on or off. Reinstalled 2.1 again.
