And here I was thinking I'd just make a bracket with a pair of hole at the right spacing to mount the camera on.

3D as in sterographic, i.e. two lenses.

Incidentally we tired this with two G3's and the IR remote; it triggered them at the same time generating a left and right frame!

Could do 3D images of moving objects (not too fast though as sometimes there was a slight difference in timing, even if they were both set to fully manual exposure focus etc.)

Is it just me, or is this thread confusing?

Many years back when I was labelled FlyingPete (better than Bin Lowden, which was an unfortunate play on my surname, and the reason we will never name our first boy Benjamin) due to my mountain biking style which ultimately ended with me in hospital.

I have more recently been referred to as Captain Random as a tribute form my seemingly random thoughts such as the one above

stereophototography is cool, but I don't have enough money for a second rebel...

But I beleive one could just "cross" the wires on the remote releases for the rebels, thus creating 3D images.

I want to experiment with that, but don't have equipment. :(

Actually the real EOS 3D rumour is related to a digital equivalent of the EOS3, as the D30, D60, 10D and 20D are rough equivalents to the EOS30/30V.

Basically it is supposed to be a half way between the 20D and the 1D variants.

Half way to a 1D... I live in hope that it isn't half way in price too.

Well, looks like I won't be upgrading to the 3D as I'm guessing it'll have dual viewfinders?

Darn you Canon!

You've got two eyes (I assume), so two viewfinders would be ideal.

But then again, no space to stick your nose  .

The LCD panel flips out of the way. No problem, unless you have a large nose, and then you need TWO eyepiece extenders!

I think Canon has a plan to take our money no matter what we do.
