I'm looking to get a new wireless mouse to use with my macbook pro to make PPing a little easier. Any suggestions?

And has anyone used Apple's Mighty Mouse? Is it worth considering, or more of a novelty?

I use a wireless Mighty mouse, it is not a novelty it is just very unreliable.

The single click and the ball tend to work fine and the tracking is ok for PP work but the right click is so unreliable that I always hit the control key and click.

I had one, but I shot it - it was eating too many batteries.

So I went back to corded types (I'm usually within arm's reach of the monitor and desktop computer anyway, so cordless didn't offer any real advantage).

I stay away from cordless mice, I am always at the computer so why add the expense of batteries? I don't need to use my mouse from 15 feet away or anything. For keyboard and mouse, I honestly don't see any need in most cases for wireless aside from novelty of "Look ma! no wires!"

I have an Apple wireless MM. After a while the scroll ball gets gummed up and doesn't work correctly. It is a pain, but the liberation application of a medical alcohol swab generally dissolves whatever it is.

This is a known problem with the MM and many have complained about it. There's no way to easily take the MM apart to clean it.

Other than this inconvenience, it works fine.

I highly dislike the ergonomics of the Mighty Mouse (Apple hasn't done a good mouse in years IMO).

I've used various mice, including Logitech's top line mice of a few years ago, MS's ergonomic mouse, another ergonomic "vertical" mouse and lately I just use the wireless mouse on my Intuos 6x11 mostly when I need a mouse.

I used a wireless mouse for a while a couple of years ago, it wasn't near as good as a wired mouse so I went back to a Logitech laser mouse. This one (external link) works great.

I use a wireless mouse, have been using the same exact one for 3 years. Logitech MX Laser or something :).

The laser mice are nice - both mine are, and they don't gum up.

I go optical... No scroll bar gumming

I've been using a wireless optical mouse, Logitech, for a few years now. I like it... less wires on the desk. As far as batteries, I use AA rechanrgeables so that's not an issue.

Have used the Logitech G5 Laser Mouse (external link) for a while now, used to have a G7 wireless that used rechargeable batteries. Just got sick and tired of replacing/swapping out the batteries. The G5 is highly recommended.

I'm on a Mac, using a Microsoft Laser Mouse. You need to keep the transmitter real close to the mouse, but other than that it works great. I've used this one for awhile now. It's customisable via MS software, and the batteries have decent life. It also fits the right hand well. I do like the freedom of the cordless mouse.

Oh, also, IMHO, stay away from Kensington stuff. I had a corded keyboard that worked OK, than during an OS Upgrade about a year ago, their software ceased to work. Their support people are offshore, and couldn't or didn't want to understand my problem. They sent me countless emails saying my problems were solved, and if I didn't respond they would close out the file. A colossal waste of time. I ended up throwing the keyboard away and replacing it with a corded Microsoft.

I use the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. I'm still on the set of AA batteries I installed in January. Best mouse I ever used.
